Dear WGSS Families,
Thank you for visiting our website and welcome to Walnut Grove Secondary School!
In the uncertain times of the 2020-2021 school year, there are two things we know for certain:
1) This year will be different than any school year in the history of our school and district; and
2) Our families and students can still count on WGSS being a place of community and support!
School may look different this year with a Quarter System with two courses per day for 10 weeks. Our commitment to serving our students, families, and community with care, compassion, and dedication will never change.
We want to serve you in times of joy, happiness, and triumph, but also in times of challenge, grief, and struggle. Academic learning and growth are our bottom line, yet we also understand that educating students means being attentive to the “whole child” and caring about their social and emotional well-being.
Our teachers and staff love to be a part of their learning and growth during these crucial years of development. We appreciate having parents in our school and contributing to our positive school culture, whether that is mostly virtual this year or in-building. Parents and the wider community are a big part of who we are, and we want you to help us tell our story
You can email me anytime at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at 604-882-0220.
Visit our WGSS Twitter page @sd35wgss or Instagram at @walnutgrovesecondary and “follow” our school account. We update these accounts regularly with insights into what’s going on school-wide and in our classrooms.
This website is also a valuable source of information. Important information we send out to families can be found here, along with our Gator News.
Walnut Grove Secondary School is a community school. We are a place of learning, belonging, growth, and support for students, families, and the community. Thank you for being a part of our community and school! Let us know how we can help make your WGSS experience even better!
